I have purchased many different varieties and figured it was worth a comparison of four different skirts. I've tried to compare apples to apples as best as possible, realizing that each brand is unique and has specific features. I've looked at skirts that are very feminine and most, that come with compression shorts.
The skirts reviewed are as follows:
- Running Skirts Athletic Skirt, regular price $59-$69
- Sparkle Skirts SparkleTech Skirt, regular price $65-$89
- Team Sparkle Skirt, regular price $25-$35
- Lululemon Pace Setter Skirt, regular price $58
And the results, please...
What are your favorite running skirts?
{Christine}

I've just started getting into INKnBURN's running skirts and absolutely love them! They're a little more pricey, but high quality and fun designs
ReplyDeleteWe have not tried anything INKnBURN yet, but I loved some of their winter shirts. Like you mentioned, their designs are really fun!
DeleteI'm regretting not trying on any running skirts at the marathon weekend expo...I don't really see myself as a "running skirt" type of gal since I never even wear skirts regularly, but I keep hearing how comfortable they are! I really need to check them out.
ReplyDeleteDo you wear a fuel belt at all while running? I'm interested to know if they stay in place with a belt since I always have that problem with shorts.
I normally do not wear skirts often in my everyday life but I love them for running because they keep you cool. I wore a belt for the first time during the marathon and had no problem keeping it in place with my Sparkle Tech skirt. I wore one of the little belts that held my phone and my ID and money. My pockets held a peanut butter english muffin (which I pitched at mile 22) and 5 gels....they are big!
DeleteGreat run down Christine. I own two Lulu Pace Setter skirts in tall and LOVE them! I'm wanting that pink Minnie Tech skirt for a disney run that I'm really wanting to do~ :c)
ReplyDeleteStill waiting on if there is a deployment or not for us early summer. If so...I'll stick more local until he returns and we will plan one then.
CONGRATS ON DUMBO!!!!
I usually like to wear my neutral black or gray skorts (no new is good new on race day!) with a team sparkle skirt over on races so they just go over
ReplyDeleteAgree Kat....nothing new on race day! :)
DeleteSo, what was your favorite? I ran both my Goofy Challenge races in Team Sparkle with spandex shorts from Target under them and loved it. Very comfy and no issues at all. I also own a LuLu skirt that I adore as well although when not doing Disney races I tend to just favor my Lulu shorts as well as my InknBurn shorts. They are most comftorable for me.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of the Sparkle Tech and wore those for both Goofy races...however, for me the pockets are key, and they have three that basically hold everything. The Team Sparkle are adorable skirts for shorter distances for me. I also bought inexpensive tech shorts from Target to wear under the skirt. Christine will probably have some additional comments!
DeleteI may be a bit bias b/c I used to work for runningskirts.com, but I do love their prints, not only cute but comfy and functional. The ultra swift skirts also have a third pocket on the back, and are a more mesh and light feel. :)
ReplyDeleteI will have to try the ultra swift - so far, I've just tried the athletic skirt. I love the cut on these - very flattering...especially since I tend to be vertically challenged! :)
DeleteThis is going to sound like such a Nancy response, but I don't really have a favorite - I like them all, for different reasons. The pocket factor is key for me, although I am much more comfortable running with a belt now. As long as you're happy with the fit/style, I think these are all great options, depending upon your priority (fit, style, cost, pockets, etc.).
ReplyDeleteThere is also an awesome shop on Etsy that specializes on eye catching but comfortable running skirts. The name is iGlow Running on Etsy. Check it out, they have gorgeous running outfits.
ReplyDeleteI love Team Sparkle! Not only is it an adorable, comfortable skirt, but the girls who work there are amazing. It really does feel like you are apart of a team when you run wearing a Team Sparkle Skirt.
ReplyDeleteI've worn Running Skirts skirts for quite a few years, and then I discovered Lululemon. Target used to have some cute ones for a lower price, but the last couple of years, I haven't liked theirs very much. I wouldn't put the Team Sparkle skirts in the same category as Running Skirts or Lulu. The sparkle skirts are more costume in nature, and although very versatile, they're not as sturdy as a standard run skirt. They all have their place. It just depends on what you're looking for. Nice comparison matrix!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out & we LOVE that you've joined the team!
ReplyDeleteHi. Do review the new Nike Rival running skirt
