Training Tuesday: new spring workout wear!

Disclaimer: As part of my affiliation with Girls Gone Sporty, I was one of three lucky girls selected to receive some fitness wear to test and review for Colosseum brand apparel.  I received no compensation for this post and all opinions are my own.

A box from Colosseum was at my home when I returned from Florida last Tuesday and I could not wait to open it up!  Three lovely pieces were in the box including the warm up capri, knock down training bra and double U tank. The colors are perfect with the pale blue and gray combination and the materials are soft but definitely exercise worthy!

Immediately I tried them on and sent a text with a photo to Christine. Her comment was, "a little hip for you, but cute."  I could not have said it better myself.  I would never be comfortable at the gym with such a loose fitting tank that has gaps in the sides.  However, these items are well made and I will definitely enjoy them in the privacy of my home. I took them on a test drive later in the week as I did some stretching and a few easy yoga moves and I love the quality!  After receiving this package, this put me in the mood to do some spring shopping.  This winter has gone on far too long and surely warmer weather is on the horizon!  For most of the country, the unexpected ice and snow storms have become too often an occurrence this winter.  On Saturday, since it was an unscheduled rest day, I visited several stores to look at the spring running clothes.  I had already bought a couple skirts online from Lululemon and wanted to get a few tops to go with them.  Old Navy was on my list since they carry a bubble tank that I fell in love with last year.  Best of all, the tanks were on sale for a mere $10 each.  I found two that matched my new skirts and solved that problem.  Now, we just need some warm weather so I can wear these cute new duds.

Have you found any fun clothes to add to your spring running wardrobe?  Please share!

  1. I looked on Lulu this morning and saw an orange polka dot skirt I would love to add to my running clothes collection! Otherwise, I'm loving the Oiselle Flyte tank and distance shorts--they are my must haves this year!

    1. Stacey, That orange dotted skirt is so cute.... I must stay away from the Lulu website! I have not worn Oiselle before but may have to give that brand a try, runners seem to love their clothing

  2. Oh, I love this. It is making me yearn for warmer weather and running skirts. Thank you for the tips. I had already planned on a Lululemon skirt but never thought of Old Navy for gear.

    1. Theresa, I found the Old Navy tops by chance last summer and really like them alot. I have gotten more picky about my running attire and those are very comfortable when it is really hot!

  3. I haven't even began to look at spring clothes yet!!! I'm crossing my fingers that the weather warms up very soon. I found some cute things at Old Navy last year which surprised me because I don't normally buy "real" clothes from there because the quality doesn't always hold up well. I have to say that I am super impressed with their active wear so far. It come in fun colors, is flattering on ( at least I think so), the quality is good so far, and it is very affordable.

    1. I do not shop at Old Navy either except for the cheap flip flops that I can take on vacation and discard before I come home! However, Christine had found a few cute workout items and so I looked last spring. I do love those bubble tanks and was so happy they made them again this year. They run quite big though, so I am not sure how they would fit you girls! An extra small is roomy for me. -Pam

  4. I love those tops/skirts! I have not started spring clothes shopping yet since our weather has been so up and down, but hopefully some consistent gorgeous weather is on the horizon! I've been wanting to check out Old Navy's workout gear too - I've heard great things!

    1. Thanks, I normally don't wear bring clothing for anything but running. Cars need to be able to see me!

  10. Oh the spring clothes have been calling my name! (Probably because I'm sick of bundling up for runs outside…) I have been loving my Jette skirt from SkirtSports - I wish they made it in more colors! I also placed my first order from Athleta and am completely prepared to fall in love. Oh boy… :)
