We will be rocking Dublin!

When you think of Dublin, what do you think of?  Guinness beer, cobblestone streets, Irish whiskey, beautiful green countryside (ok, maybe not in the city), Celtic rock and Trinity College probably come to mind.  But what about running a half marathon?  Well, we're adding that to our list...we are so excited to announce that we'll be traveling to Dublin late this summer to run in Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half as Rock 'n' Bloggers!

After Mom's first international race last summer, I've been eyeing several European races so this is a fantastic opportunity to race across the pond!  Add to that that I've never been to Ireland so I'm really looking forward to a fun race vacation this summer.  And I'm excited to spend some time in the country of my Keenan ancestors!
Can't wait to run down these streets!
This is the second year that the Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half will serve as the Irish National Half Marathon Championship which only adds to the excitement for this race!  I'm sure there will be some speedy folks in attendance.  We haven't really had a chance to talk through our race strategy so we'll be figuring that out closer to the time.

So let's talk details, shall we?  The race takes place on Monday, August 4th.  Like all Rock 'n' Roll events, participants will receive a tech shirt, finisher's medal and swag bag.  Plus there's a finish line party and I'm hoping for some traditional Irish bands!  Registration is already open and the next price hike is May 1st so get in on the action if you're interested.

Care to join us?  We have a discount code for you!  Register between now and July 27, 2014 at 11:59pm and get €3 off your race registration with code RUNROCKNROLL.

Have you ever run abroad?  Or do you have any recommendations for things we should do in Dublin?

  6. I'm so excited for both of you!! Ireland is beautiful. If time allows, try to get out to Galway and see the Cliffs of Moher, and get to Killarney, because it is the best little town!! I rented a bike and rode through the Gap of Dunloe from Killarney. In Dublin, the Guinness factory tour is a must!! Walking the town and checking out the doors is a fun, and free option. You will love your time in Ireland. Slainte'

  22. Congrats! Dublin is gorgeous. Definitely check out Trinity College and the Guinness tour is great (even for someone who doesn't particularly like Guinness). There's a great shopping district near Trinity College and a gorgeous green park (name is escaping me!) nearby as well. Have fun!
